“Nature does not hurry, yet
everything is accomplished.”
– Lao Tzu
Let’s take it slow together.
We are fully in winter here in the northern hemisphere and it is all about slowing down, feeling, going inward, and taking our time. We are in the earth element and are being called to get grounded in our bodies and prepare for the year to come. Being quiet, listening to our inner guidance, and taking care of ourselves is the focus so that we can be strong for when the spring arrives and activities start to come back into the year.
This painting was all about slowing down and feeling my way through. I took my time while I painted. I felt each brushstroke as I laid it down, I watched as the drips of water and paint hit the paper and spread out into plumes of washy colors. It transported me and by the end, I was calm and at peace.
This process can be yours. You can make shifts in your painting practice that will change your emotional response to painting. It doesn’t matter what your style of painting is, you can find peace there.

SPIRITUAL CREATIVE TOOLS
TOOLS TO ENRICH YOUR SACRED ART PRACTICE
Use this time in your sacred painting practice to search your feelings about your art and your connection to it. Embrace a slow, meditative practice that will help you to see the path before you and which direction you would like to take. What thoughts arise in the quiet spaces of your painting meditations? Where are you being called? Are you feeling lost and disconnected from your art, or are you in alignment and ready to move to the next level? What messages are you receiving?
I hope these little splashes of inspiration are able to let you flow with your current sacred art & writing practices. Comment below and let me know what came up…
Be Well, and big hugs,
